Royal family releases pictures of Princess Astrid's funeral
King Haakon, Queen Mette-Marit and other members of the royal family attended the funeral of Princess Astrid
Norway’s royal family on Wednesday released photos from the funeral of the late Princess Astrid who died just two days her brother King Harald was laid to rest.
In a Norwegian language statement, the royal family said,
“Today, Princess Astrid was laid to rest from Ris Church in Oslo. Their Majesties King Haakon and Queen Mette-Marit, Her Royal Highness Crown Princess Ingrid Alexandra and Queen Sonja were present together with Princess Astrid's closest family.”
Meanwhile, a report said Marius Borg Hoiby, the son of Queen Mette-Marit of Norway, who is currently under electronic monitoring at Skaugum Palace, was absent from the funeral.
Authorities said Marius did not request permission from the prosecutor's office to attend this ceremony.
