Prince Harry honours 'brave' girl who learned to walk and talk again after brain injury

Margot Jones-Billington, now seven, has faced a lot since she was born.

Belonging to Northampton, she suffered a ruptured arteriovenous malformation, or AVM, as her first hardship when she was just 20 months old.

This condition left her in a coma because it caused a dangerous brain bleed.

In her stay in intensive care for six weeks, Margot faced a double whammy when she suffered both cardiac and respiratory arrests.

With a stroke also caused by the brain injury, Margot had to start from the beginning, like relearning walking and talking.

All her efforts, grit, and determination came to fruition when Prince Harry presented her award on behalf of WellChild, where the Duke of Sussex is a patron.

Her mom, Jones-Billington, told the BBC, "I'm proud of her; iso good for her because she needs the recognition."

She shared, "She had to start from scratch again... I look at her now, and I can't believe that she's walking around – she's communicating."

Laura also praised Harry, saying he was "lovely, just amazing, and he was so calm, so kind."

For the speech, meanwhile, the royal prince said, "The award celebrated an extraordinary group of children and young people living with a serious illness.”mplex medical needs, as well as the families who support them every single day".
