Jane Seymour shares the unconventional way she and fiance celebrate their love

Red roses show up every single month for Jane Seymour, and there's a reason why. 

The 75-year-old actress opened up to about her engagement to musician and physician John Zambetti while attending The Hollywood Reporter and SAG-AFTRA's Emmy Nominees Night in Los Angeles on Saturday.

“We’re extremely happy, whatever it is,” she began as she spoke with People.

“We celebrate our anniversary every month,” Seymour then revealed. “I get red roses of some form, anywhere in the world, whatever’s happening. Something like that. We’re not going to wait for years. I mean, why wait for years at our age? We’ve jumped straight into living together for the last three years and are having an amazing life together.”

She added, “I’m very, very lucky.”

The couple confirmed their engagement back in June, shortly after Seymour was first spotted wearing a diamond ring that sparked speculation. 

“It’s called a toi et moi ring, and it’s a vintage thing,” she further said of her engagement ring. “Apparently, Napoleon gave one to [his first wife] Joséphine. That’s how far back it goes.”

Being in their 70s, Seymour admitted the timing of the proposal caught her a little off guard, but she said their age has also made them less inclined to wait around for milestones. 

Earlier this year, Seymour explained why the design felt meaningful to her, noting that unlike a traditional solitaire, the connected stones reflect the idea that she and Zambetti are building this next chapter together, each bringing their own histories into it.

“What I really love is it has little diamonds here, going toward the main one. Instead of a solitaire — I’m not alone, we’re together and we had a life before,” she said on Today with Jenna & Sheinelle.
