Carolyn Miller recalls her interesting journey into country music
Carolyn Miller opens up about when she decided to pursue music instead of acting
Carolyn Miller recently opened up about how she chose country music over acting.
The singer and former child actress illuminated The Body Jackson Interview series with her presence, where she admitted that she never imagined herself as a singer despite her passion for being part of the entertainment industry.
Miller’s life changed when she started uploading songs on YouTube as fun after graduating from college. It was her way of keeping herself busy, as she was also giving auditions.
The Knights in Spain crooner shared, “For the first time in my life … I didn’t have school during the day and then auditions or filming or rehearsals or whatever at night.”
“So, honestly, I ended up just getting bored in my downtime, because I’m someone that loves to go, go, go. So, I turned to YouTube, uploaded a few covers,” she recalled, adding, “So I turned to YouTube, uploaded a few covers.”
Miller went on to mention that YouTube made her feel like an independent artist, something she did not feel while auditioning for different roles.
“I unintentionally and organically started building a fan base, which then led to people being like, ‘When are you gonna put out original music?’ And I’m like, ‘I’m an actress from New York! People give me scripts!’” The Busy Bee hitmaker remembered.
It is pertinent to mention that after people made Miller realize she could be a professional recording artist, she kept uploading covers; however, the turning point came in her life when she shared one of Trainor’s songs.
She said, “We tagged Meghan Trainor, and Meghan herself had reshared it, and she had said, ‘Everyone, follow Carolyn Miller — this girl can sing,’ or something like that. So I woke up one morning with an extra 3,000 Facebook followers … and I was like, ‘Oh my God.’”
“And there was this real thing that was starting to happen where I was like, ‘I’m loving what this world is. I don’t know a damn thing about it, but like, let’s see what’s behind door number three,’” Carolyn Miller quipped.
