Sabrina Carpenter moves closer to EGOT with first Emmy win

Sabrina Carpenter has just crossed halfway to the EGOT title as the Espresso singer just received her first Emmy.

The Please Please Please hitmaker won the prestigious award on Saturday at the 2026 Creative Arts Emmys in the category of Best Variety Special for her role as an executive producer-performer on The Muppet Show.

It is pertinent to mention that Sabrina received two Grammy Awards last year for Best Pop Solo Performance in her song Espresso and Best Pop Vocal Album for her album Short n' Sweet.

And now, the songstress is just two more prestigious awards away from the EGOT title, the Oscar and the Tony.

However, Sabrina was not in attendance at the 2026 Creative Arts Emmy Awards ceremony to accept her first Emmy.

In The Muppet Show, which was the revival of Jim Henson's beloved Muppets show, the singer-songwriter served as the executive producer and performer.

Her fellow executive producer, Matt Vogel told Gold Derby in a previous interview, Vogel told Gold Derby, "I think in the current climate of entertainment, it felt right to do the special now. We assembled a great group to make the show. It's very important for us to try to get the right tone and project to make it all feel great. And that's what we did with this. We're really proud of it."

The Disney+ project received six Emmy nominations and won four at the 2026 Creative Arts Emmys on Saturday including Best Variety Special (Pre-Recorded), Best Writing for a Variety Special, Best Picture Editing for Variety Programming, and Best Production Design for a Variety Special.
