Former British footballer David Beckham is known as a longtime admirer of the British royal family.

The Beckham family’s relation with the royal family has long been the subject of social media discussions, and when David and Victoria Beckham’s son, Brooklyn Peltz Beckham, went public against his family, a large number of people compared his situation with Prince Harry, the younger son of King Charles III.

Harry and Brooklyn’s disputes with their families reportedly started over their wives.

While the royal family and Prince Harry have not commented on the Beckham family’s dispute with their son, people always look for connections and things which link the royals to the Beckhams.

A look at social media activity of Brooklyn shows that at least one of Prince William’s friends continues to follow him on Instagram and like his posts.

Last week, Alexander Gilkes, William’s Eton friend, was prominent among those who liked Brooklyn’s Instagram post which featured multiple photos, including some of his wife, Nicola Peltz Beckham.

Alexander Gilkes is engaged to former tennis star Maria Sharapova.

The couple got engaged in 2020 and have a son, Theodore.

Alexander Gilkes is known as New York’s best-connected Briton, whose ex-wife, Misha Nonoo, is a friend of Meghan Markle.

Gilkes was also a guest at Prince William and Kate Middleton's wedding.

He is understood to have become friends with Prince William when they were both at Eton and is also said to be close to Prince Harry, who also went to the same school.

Interestingly, Prince George, Prince William and Kate Middleton’s 13-year-old son, will follow in the footsteps of his father and attend the prestigious Eton College later this year.

Eton, one of Britain's most elite schools, is located close to King Charles's Windsor Castle, west of London.
