Travis Scott shares what happened when Christopher Nolan offered him 'The Odyssey' role
Travis Scott recalls hilarious moment when Christopher Nolan called him
Travis Scott has just made his acting debut in Christopher Nolan's The Odyssey.
During an appearance on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon, the rapper recalled unexpected phone call from the Oscar-winning filmmaker himself for the role.
Scott shared that he initially assumed that Nolan might be calling about one of his concerts. "My phone went off and it just said, ‘Chris.’ And I’m thinking, like, ‘Okay, I don’t know what this is about. Maybe he wants to go to a show?’"
"I’m like, ‘Okay, what’s this about?’ So I pick up and he’s like, ‘Would you be interested in acting in a movie?’ And I’m like, ‘I mean, I guess, you know? What’s the [role]?’" Scott recalled.
Adding, "But I didn’t think it was for him. I thought it might be for somebody else."
When Nolan told Scott that he wanted him to be in the movie, the rapper responded with "Whoa, hold on. Wait. Wait. You know I make music?"
"And then he gave me his whole thesis on why…," Scott shared.
Praising The Odyssey director Christopher Nolan, Travis Scott said, "I really enjoy his time. I’m really inspired by him, he’s a real mentor of mine outside of this. And so I’m like, ‘Yo, whatever you’re down with, I’m down. However, it goes, I’m with it."
"I was actually nervous as ‘F,’ but it worked out," he admitted further. "I didn’t know that it was going to be Anne Hathaway, Tom [Holland] and Robert Pattinson — a bunch of like, amazing people… I don’t know what the f--- I’m doing. But they were such [an] amazing cast you know?"
"[And] Chris is an amazing director. Everybody made me feel comfortable. I was just glad to be there and just watch him. And being in such a world of them. So I’m just glad to be here," Scott noted further.
