Meghan Markle, Harry finally achieve what they proposed years ago: 'King Charles quietly helped'
Meghan Markle and Prince Harry had demanded a hybrid role that would allow them to be both royal and private
Meghan Markle and Prince Harry have finally achieved what they ‘proposed years ago’ to Queen Elizabeth, it has been claimed by a royal expert.
In his latest piece for Naughty But Nice substack, royal expert Rob Shuter has claimed that it may not be official, but the California-based royals are looking more and more like working royals again.
He explained not because Meghan and Harry have returned to royal duties. Not because they have rejoined the Firm. But because they appear to have “secured exactly” what they wanted from the start.
Meghan and Harry have royal status, royal protection, royal access, and family support while maintaining their independent life in California, Rob said after King Charles olive branch to them.
The expert, citing the palace insiders said, “This is essentially the arrangement Harry and Meghan proposed years ago. The difference is that Queen Elizabeth said no.”
When Meghan and Harry stepped back from royal life in 2020, they sought a hybrid role that would allow them to be both royal and private. The late Queen famously rejected the idea, insisting that ‘monarchy was not a part-time job’.
However, the expert said today, the picture looks very different as King Charles is encouraging reconciliation.
King Charles has ‘quietly helped smooth the way’ for Harry and Meghan’s visits to Britain, ensuring they remain connected to the family and firmly within the royal orbit.
“They’re not working royals,” the source said. “But they’re receiving many of the benefits that come with being working royals.”
