In an interview with Variety, he said he was a rookie at the hit HBO drama.

"In Season 1, he was the guy surrounded by a bunch of us who were completely new to this," Ball said, referring to Wyle.

The actor said he was so green that he did not even know how to read a call sheet.

"I showed up to Season 1 not knowing how to read a call sheet," said the 36-year-old.

But Wyle took him under his wing, helped him, offered advice, and provided guidance.

"He has been so patient and so generous, offering all of us advice and guidance through this incredible moment."

But what particularly impressed Ball the most was Wyle letting each actor find their own way.

"He’s also been great about leaving space for us to each have our own journey and figure it out our own way, which is a sign of a wise and generous leader.”

In The Pitt, Ball portrayed Dr Frank Langdon, and Wyle played Dr Michael 'Robby' Robinavitch.
