Kylie Kelce opens up about downside of family fame
Kylie Kelce on fan attention starting to affect her children
Kylie Kelce has admitted she feels bothered by the public attention her minor daughters receive because of her family’s fame.
The mom-of-four made the admission during the June 4 episode of her podcast Not Gonna Lie, where she opened up about wishing her children could grow up more normally despite the popularity of her husband, former Philadelphia Eagles player Jason Kelce ever since his brother, Travis Kelce, started dating pop star Taylor Swift and later got engaged.
“First of all, yuck. Oh, God. That's terrible,” she responded on being asked if her kids enjoyed the attention, adding, “The girls think that it's funny.”
She explained that their children — Wyatt, Elliotte, Bennett and Finn — sometimes joke about fan encounters they see in public.
Kylie elaborated that one such example was the girls often copying people who stop Jason for photos and act like excited fans while playing together at home.
“They think it's funny when we go out in public, people say, ‘Are you Jason Kelce?' And then we go back to the house, and they say, ‘Are you Jason Kelce?'” Kylie shared.
Although she admitted the behavior can be funny, she also said it makes her uncomfortable.
“It makes me sad that this is the reality,” Kylie explained. “I want them to have as normal an upbringing as possible.”
She added that while the children usually laugh about the attention, there are moments when they become protective of their family.
“They think that it's funny until...every so often, Wyatt will not like that someone is either talking about approaching us or staring at us,” Kylie shared.
Kylie said Wyatt stared at the group and firmly told them, “They are not taking a picture with my dad.”
The podcast host also explained that she and Jason try hard to keep a level of privacy around their children despite being part of a very famous family.
Kylie ended by making one clear request to fans, “We should collectively leave them out of it.”
