Maren Morris opens up about son Hayes's love for Backstreet Boys
Maren Morris lifts the lid on her son's obsession with famous boy band Backstreet Boys
Maren Morris recently revealed the kind of obsession her son, Hayes Andrew Hurd, holds for the Backstreet Boys.
For those unaware, Hayes is the only child of Maren, whom she welcomed on March 23, 2020, with her ex-husband, country singer Ryan Hurd.
While conversing with PEOPLE magazine at the 2026 Music Will Benefit in New York City on May 7, the 36-year-old American singer-songwriter unveiled that her six-year-old child is “obsessed” with the Backstreet Boys.
The famous boy band consists of five members namely Kevin Richardson, Nick Carter, Brian Littrell, AJ McLean, and Howie Dorough.
“Backstreet Boys, well, he thinks they’re brand new. But I was like, no, they’ve been around since I was, like, your age," Maren told the outlet.
"But no, he’s obsessed,” she noted. Her best friend, Karina Argow, went on to share that Hayes is “starting to learn about Backstreet Boys, which is a huge deal.”
When she asked about her plans to teach him music, Maren replied, “That it’s hard work, it’s fun, but it’s a lot of egos."
"But no, he’s very sweet, and he loves being on the road with me," the Highwomen songstress said.
It is pertinent to mention that Maren Morris was awarded the Creative Dreamers Award at the 2026 Music Will event.
