Eva Mendes makes emotional plea to protect children from online harms
The actress is mom to two daughters, whom she shares with her longtime partner Ryan Gosling
Eva Mendes is advocating for legislation to protect kids from online harms on special day for mothers.
The actress, who shares two daughters with her longtime partner, actor Ryan Gosling, took to her Instagram account on Saturday and penned down a note for mothers all around the world, warning them about the damage kids are facing online.
As the doting mom raised her voice to have legal channels for kids' online protection, she wrote, "Mothers are losing their children to social media harms, and instead of breaking, they're turning their grief into action. For your kids and for mine."
The actress continued, "Out of the universal unconditional love a mother feels for her child-may we please stand in solidarity with them and sign their Mother's Day card asking bipartisan lawmakers to just that: Protect our children."
She concluded her caption with a prompt to her followers to sign a card supporting these measures, Eva added, "Please pass comprehensive legislation this year that will protect them from online harms."
Eva also added a photo in the carousel that read, "THIS MOTHER'S DAY SKIP THE FLOWERS SKIP THE CHOCOLATES PROTECT KIDS ONLINE."
This came after the actress, who revealed that she has a "non-verbal agreement" with Ryan to be a stay-at-home mother to their two daughters, wrote a children's book titled Desi, Mami, and the Never-Ending Worries.
