Benedict Cumberbatch accused of breaking traffic rules during heated cyclist clash
The actor stunned bystanders with intense public argument in London
Benedict Cumberbatch was spotted having a heated argument with a cyclist in London after allegedly running a red light.
As per a report by Daily Mail on Tuesday evening at around 5:30 p.m. an eyewitness told the outlet that a 10 minute argument occurred when the Sherlock star was his cargo bike and another cyclist followed him and confronted him over the alleged traffic violation.
A video from the scene, shared by the publisher, shows the other cyclist shouting, "You're deluded, you're lying. I was behind you the entire time", while Benedict replied, "dude, you verbally abused me".
The cyclist then sarcastically responded, "Oh no, I verbally abused the guy who completely repeatedly broke the law," to which Benedict admitted, "I did it once".
The man continued accusing the actor, saying, "and then you went through a zebra crossing, you went through three lights", but Benedict insisted, "no, I did not".
The source described the exchange as intense and said the pair blocked the lane while arguing, leaving bystanders shocked.
Despite the confrontation, the Doctor Strange actor later stopped to take selfies with young fans.
Another witness told the outlet, “Everyone was just stood there with jaws dropped.”
This is not the first time Benedict has reportedly had an issue involving cyclists. In 2019, he was involved in another incident after his car allegedly clipped a cyclist on the Isle of Wight.
