Inside Trump and Putin talk: Here's what was discussed in 90-minute call
The Trump and Putin call lasted for over an hour as several issues came under discussion
U.S. president Donald Trump and the Russian president Vladimir Putin held a call on Wednesday that lasted over 90 minutes, focusing on Iran and Ukraine, according to the Kremlin, which described the conversation as "frank" and "friendly".
Per Russian officials, Putin expressed concerns over the recent attempted assassination of Trump, where he remained unhurt.
Regarding Iran, the Russian president shared ideas with his counterpart on the Iranian nuclear program – a key bottleneck in the US-Iran talks.
Putin, according to the Kremlin, also backed Trump's announcement to extend the ceasefire, which is reportedly under strain due to purportedly strong disagreement.
The pair also discussed Ukraine, where the Russian leader proposed a ceasefire tied to May's Victory Day commemorations – a day marking the end of World War II.
According to the Kremlin, Trump received the offer positively and also hinted that a potential deal in Ukraine is near.
Additionally, the ties between the two countries and possible economic and energy cooperation are also touched upon.
