Adam Shulman: Who is Anne Hathaway’s Jewish husband?

Adam Shulman, Anne Hathaway’s husband since 2012, is Jewish. 

The New York-born actor, producer and jewelry designer tied the knot with the Oscar-winning Christian actress in a traditional Jewish ceremony in California. 

Co-officiated by a rabbi and a priest to honor both faiths, the couple shares two sons—Jonathan and Jack, and incorporates Jewish traditions in their family life. 

Shulman co-owns James Banks Design and has appeared in television shows including “The West Wing.”

According to PEOPLE magazine, Anne and the producer met through mutual friends at the Palm Springs Film Festival in 2008.

Speaking to Harper's Bazaar UK in 2013, the actress said she instantly knew that "he was the love of my life."

In April 2026, Hathaway spoke to PEOPLE in her cover story for World's Most Beautiful 2026, calling  Shulman her dream partner.

Shulman had a five-episode stint on the TV series American Dreams in 2005. He also played Deputy Enos Strate in the TV movie The Dukes of Hazzard: The Beginning in 2007.

In addition to acting, Shulman is also a producer who has worked on the upcoming movie Yesteryear and television series Fear Not He graduated from Brown University in 2003 with a degree in theater.

Meanwhile, Anne Hathaway's video of casually saying Inshallah has gone viral on social media. The Hollywood star casually said Inshallah while discussing her hopes for a long and healthy life.

“I want to have a long, healthy life, Inshallah. I hope so,” said Anne Hathaway in the viral video.

Inshallah is an Arabic phrase meaning “if God wills” or “God willing.” It is commonly used across the Arab world to express hope for the future while acknowledging that outcomes ultimately depend on divine will.
