Buckingham Palace has shared an update after King Charles' brother Prince Edward was forced to pull out of a royal engagement.
Initially, the Duke of Edinburgh was set to attend a ceremony at St James' Palace alongside the King on Thursday, but he was forced to miss the event due to health concern last-minute.
While Buckingham palace did not share details about Prince Edward's health, they confirmed that the event proceeded as planned. The official Instagram handle of the royal family posted photos from the engagement, featuring King Charles, Queen Camilla and other senior royals.
The details shared in the caption revealed, "The King has presented the Queen Elizabeth Prizes for Higher and Further Education, in recognition of the outstanding work taking place at universities and colleges across the UK."
It read further, "The Queen, The Princess Royal, and The Duke and Duchess of Gloucester joined the presentation ceremony at St James’s Palace, where 19 universities and colleges were honoured."
"The Princess Royal attended in her capacity as Chancellor of The University of Edinburgh, which received an award for the research and education provided by its Centre for Fire Safety Engineering," the caption concluded.
