Charley Crockett's Canadian tour cancelled after being denied entry into Canada over past felony conviction
Charley Crockett said the denial was linked to a 2016 felony conviction in Virginia for selling, giving or distributing less than five pounds of marijuana
Charley Crockett’s Canadian tour has been cancelled after the American country singer was denied entry into Canada.
Crockett was scheduled to perform Thursday at Winnipeg’s Burton Cummings Theatre but called off all Canadian dates after being refused entry in both Vancouver and Kelowna.
In a post on Instagram, Crockett said the denial was linked to a 2016 felony conviction in Virginia for selling, giving or distributing less than five pounds of marijuana.
“Everybody’s got a past. Mine’s still haunting me,” Crockett wrote.
He added that he was warned a third attempt to enter Canada could jeopardize future travel opportunities, leaving him no choice but to cancel the tour.
“I know this doesn’t begin to make up for y’all’s time and hard-earned money. I apologize to everyone affected. I aim to be back one of these days real soon”, he said according to CTV.
Ticketmaster confirmed refunds will be issued to the original method of payment.
Crockett’s album Dollar a Day was nominated for Best Traditional Country Album at the 2026 Grammys. His upcoming release Age of the Ram is set for April.
