'Stranger Things' finale documentary has one big mystery involving David Harbour, Winona Ryder
'Stranger Things' finale documentary leaves one question unanswered about David Harbour and Winona Ryder
The finale documentary of Stranger Things included interviews of most cast members but David Harbour and Winona Ryder were not featured in it.
For those unaware, Netflix dropped the two-hour special One Last Adventure: The Making of Stranger Things 5 on Monday, January 12, which showed Ross and Matt Duffer documenting the experience of filming the fifth and final season of Stranger Things.
It showed Ross and Matt in the writers’ room on the set and in the days before production ended.
When the cast and crew were interviewed about their time on the hit American horror TV series, Harbour, who played Jim Hooper and Ryder, who portrayed Joyce Byers, were seen in footage from the table read but there were no one-on-one confessions of them were.
In a talk with Variety, Martina Radwan, the director of Stranger Things, said, “There aren’t interviews with people beyond the show itself. It’s the Duffers, it’s the cast, it’s the department heads. There’s so much information about Stranger Things out in the world that I wanted to keep it in the bubble. Anything that you need to know outside of the show, you can get — it’s out there.”
Radwan went on to share that Harbour and Ryder did not film any content, quipping, “No, they’re not [in it]. We just didn’t get the time. They were busy with other projects, and so we didn’t have the time to sit down.”
Notably, most of the cast was interviewed, including Millie Bobby Brown, who was also featured in costume.
“That was Millie’s idea! She was like, ‘This is my last day, I’m in character.’ Unfortunately, with David and Winona, we couldn’t find the time. We tried,” she noted.
