Meghan Markle acting career on life support: ‘Hardly Meryl Streep stuff’

Meghan Markle’s acting comeback is already being criticized as she is set to make a cameo in Close Personal Friends.

According to those present on-set with the Duchess of Sussex, her return has received a lukewarm reception, with insiders revealing she struggled to keep up with her co-stars.

An insider told Radar Online that Markle appeared tentative and lacked the polish of her more experienced co-actors, including Lily Collins and Brie Larson.

While some critics said that she only performed this way because of her time away from acting, others suggested it's a sign of her fading star power.

"It was clear she wanted to make a point by taking on the role, but acting is something that needs constant practice, and she has been away from it for a long time,” the source said.

They added, “Next to experienced actors, the gap was hard to miss."

Another source revealed that there was no "hostility" toward Prince Harry’s wife but noted that people were surprised “at how tentative she appeared."

While fans of Meghan believe her brief appearance shouldn't be judged too much, critics think it puts on display her "desperate desire" to reinsert herself in Hollywood.

"Whether Close Personal Friends reignites Markle's acting ambitions remains unclear,” shared a media analyst.

“For now, those close to the production say the reaction has been muted at best. For many, it will probably remind people why she left acting in the first place,” they added.
