Jessie J confesses she's 'crying a lot' after toughest year yet
The singer opened up about the emotional toll of pausing work during cancer fight
Jessie J took a moment to reflect on a "heavy" year amid her health scare
On December 30, the 37-year-old singer took to her social media account to share a touching reflection on the past year while looking back on her cancer journey.
It is pertinent to mention that Jessie announced her cancer diagnosis in June.
“In a world full of ‘everything is fine, I’m happy, I’m good, life is perfect’ there is grief, hurt, pain, sadness, heartbreak and reflection and processing happening this time of year for many of us, alongside the good and great or on its own,” she began in her year-end note.
Jessie went on to write, “This year has been heavy and hard in many ways for all of us,” she said. “For me personally one of the hardest but most magical years of my life. Personally and professionally.”
The Price Tag artist further articulated her thoughts, saying this is the first time she paused her work and now “all the sadness has come up.”
“So I’m crying a lot. Writing s*** down feeling really low tbh. The lowest I have felt in a while. An accumulation of stuff just making its way to the surface and I’m letting it out,” she continued.
While expressing her emotions, she advised people to let the choking sentiments flow and also shared what not to say when one sees a person weeping, “Don’t hold it in people. We are not superhuman or meant to be happy and positive all the time. It’s healthy and normal to cry, and if someone you love is crying don’t say ‘oh don’t cry’ say ‘come here.’”
“Sending love to anyone feeling this way too right now. No positive end to this. Just I’m with ya. It’s s*** sometimes,” she concluded her caption.
