Mel Gibson, Rosalind Ross confirm their separation: 'It’s sad to end this chapter'
Mel Gibson and Rosalind Ross call it quits after nine years of their relationship
Mel Gibson and Rosalind Ross have parted ways after 9 years of their relationship.
The 69-year-old actor and filmmaker and the 35-year-old screenwriter and film director confirmed the news of their separation in a joint statement.
Gibson and Ross told PEOPLE magazine, “Although it’s sad to end this chapter in our lives, we are blessed with a beautiful son and will continue to be the best parents possible.”
Notably, the prominent couple of Hollywood, who had secretly gone their separate ways a year ago, stated that they will continue to co-parent their 8-year-old son, Lars.
For those unaware, Gibson and Ross’s first interaction with each other was in 2014 through their mutual friends.
Soon after, they started dating each other and in 2017, the pair welcomed their first child, a son Lars.
The arrival of their son doubled the happiness for the Mad Max star, as he secured a nomination for the Best Director Academy Award for Hacksaw Ridge just a few days ago.
"What could be more exciting than listening to the nominations being announced while holding my newborn son," he remarked at that time.
It is pertinent to mention that other than Lars, Gibson is also the father to eight children, as he shares his daughter Hannah and six adult sons, Edward, Milo, Thomas, Christian, Louis, and William, with ex-wife Robyn Moore. He also welcomed a 16-year-old daughter, Lucia, with his former partner, Oksana Grigorieva, a Russian pianist and songwriter.
