Amanda Seyfried asks fans to not read 'The Housemaid' before watching it
Amanda Seyfried is urging fans to read The Housemaid after watching the forthcoming movie.
The 40-year-old American actress, who is playing the role of Nina Winchester in a movie based on the psychological thriller novel of the same name by Freida McFadden, conversed with Us Weekly to promote The Housemaid.
Seyfried said, “Do not read it until you’ve seen the movie. Then it will ruin the twists for you.”
The Mamma Mia! star went on to share that she went to see a screening of The Housemaid “a couple of months ago” with a friend who was clueless about how the story would unfold, despite constantly guessing.
She emphasized, “This is exactly what we needed, especially around the holidays,” Seyfried told Us of the thriller. “Do you know what I mean?”
For those unaware, The Housemaid has an ensemble cast, including Sydney Sweeney as Millie Calloway, Brandon Sklenar as Andrew Winchester, Megan Ferguson as Jilianne, Michele Morrone as Enzo, Indiana Elle as Cecelia Winchester, and others.
According to the film’s synopsis, “Hoping for a fresh start, a young woman [Millie] becomes a live-in maid for a wealthy couple [Nina and Andrew] who harbour sinister secrets.”
It is pertinent to mention that The Housemaid is scheduled to be released on December 19, 2025.
