'Harry Potter' star gives 'no advice' to new TV series cast
Timothy Spall also sheds light on his character in the Harry Potter film series
As Harry Potter's new series is in the works, Timothy Spall, who plays Wormtail in the film series, says he has no advice for the show’s cast.
His reason behind this is simple: he wanted them “to make the part their own" show. He explains, “And there is so much good writing, good characters, classic. You can do it as many different ways as you like."
However, the actor adds that his character, Wormtail, is complex, and whoever plays the role in the new TV show should keep this in mind.
“There’s no advice, but I would say there is something very complex about somebody that is that evil and also kind of vulnerable at the same time. That’s what I liked about him,” he tells People.
Regardless of who plays Wormtail, Timothy has great regard for playing the character in the Harry Potter film franchise.
“There’s a devotion here and a whole generation and kids that it means a lot to. And, so, to be a part of something that, seven different films, that are basically about magic."
"And making people have a good time. And sometimes it encourages people to read, it’s a great thing,” he told Absolute Radio in 2011.
Meanwhile, the shooting on the Harry Potter TV series is ongoing. Season one is expected to come out in 2026.
