Claire Holt has opened up about how becoming a mother of three has reshaped her life in profound ways.
In a new conversation with E! News, the actress reflected on her evolving role as a parent and how motherhood has been both grounding and transformative.
"The beauty of motherhood is that you become really aware of who you are," Holt shared.
The Vampire Diaries alum, who last appeared on screen as Rebekah Mikaelson in The Originals spin-off Legacies in 2022, also explained that she made the conscious decision to step away from acting in order to be more present for her children.
"I'm not willing to sacrifice my mental health or happiness anymore for things, so that's a beautiful thing that's come from motherhood - it's a really strong sense of yourself," she said.
It is safe to say that Holt's priorities shifted significantly after welcoming her children, James and Ford, as well as Elle, with her husband, entrepreneur Andrew Joblon.
While she embraces motherhood wholeheartedly, Holt admitted the experience comes with its fair share of challenges.
“Any parent will tell you that it's the greatest joy of their life, but it's also absolutely exhausting,” she explained.
“Every choice you make matters to this person, and if you're not careful, you can totally lose yourself.”
She concluded by emphasizing, “And the most important thing in the world is being able to show up for them as the best version of yourself, and that means prioritising wellness, that means prioritising sleep, that means prioritising meditation, and all of the things that we know reduces stress.”
