Google’s new feature transforms any headphones into live translators
Google has deployed a new feature that effectively turns any pair of headphones into a translator
Google has reportedly introduced a new beta feature that lets users hear immediate translations in their headphones.
The feature primarily uses advanced Gemini AI capabilities to deliver seamless translations directly to the user’s ear.
Translation feature for headphones signals its growing prominence in the market
The new real-time translation feature for headphones preserves each speaker’s tone, emphasis, and modulation.
This enhancement makes it easier to follow the conversation and analyse who is speaking. It specifically works to turn any pair of headphones into a real-time two-way translation device.
The beta feature is launching as a new function in the Translate app on Android devices in the U.S., Mexico, and India. It supports over 70 languages and is compatible with any headphones.
How can the feature be enabled?
- If you’re trying to listen to a speech or conversation in a different language, you can simply put on your headphones.
- Open the Translate app and select the Live translate option.
- Hear a real-time translation in your preferred language
Google is efficiently working on cutting-edge development. Gemini features for Translate are expected to be more natural, and highly accurate for text translations.
The new development is working well in the U.S. and India. It has the ability to translate between English and nearly 20 languages, including Spanish, Arabic, Chinese, Japanese, and German.
Additionally, the update is available in the Translate app on Android, iOS, and on the web, and it includes the development of new intriguing features, allowing for an easier way to track your progress and stay consistent.
The tools were particularly designed to compete with Duolingo and to bring the experience closer to strong conversational skills.
