Frankie Muniz reflects on his reunion with former co-stars in 'Malcolm in the Middle: Life’s Still Unfair'
Frankie Muniz recently got candid and reflected on reuniting with his former co-stars for the forthcoming Malcolm in the Middle miniseries reboot.
The 40-year-old American actor and professional stock car racing driver is again portraying Malcolm Wilkerson in the four-episode Life’s Still Unfair, a reboot of Malcolm in the Middle.
While conversing with PEOPLE magazine to promote the upcoming project, Muniz confessed he was “excited” for the reboot but did not know how he would feel about his reunion with his erstwhile co-stars such as Bryan Cranston, Tania Raymonde, Justin Berfield, Jane Kaczmarek, Erik Per Sullivan, and others.
Voicing his thoughts, he said, "When I was doing Malcolm 20 years ago, I was a kid. I was like 13 to 20 when I was on the show and I just kind of showed up and was excited to be there and said the words that were on the paper and it worked."
The Agent Cody Banks alum explained, "As an adult, you tend to overthink things ... and you put more pressure on yourself as well. So, I didn't know what it was gonna be like — if it was going to be easy to be Malcolm, if it was gonna be awkward back with the cast. And not to sound like cliché, but it was as if not a single day went by. All of us — every single person — like instantly fell back into their characters with, I'm talking the first table read.”
Muniz went on to acknowledge that filming the upcoming Disney+ revival miniseries was "probably one of the best times I've ever had on a set."
It is pertinent to mention that Malcolm in the Middle: Life’s Still Unfair will be released sometime in 2026 on Hulu.
