Hugh Jackman spills truth about embarrassing stage mishap
Hugh Jackman recalled a stage disaster he couldn’t hide
Hugh Jackman is reminiscing over a hilarious past event early in his career.
In a recent appearance on SiriusXM’s The Howard Stern Show, the 57-year-old actor confirmed a speculation by his laughter when the show host asked him if he had pissed in his pants on stage during a performance.
“Morning, everybody!” Jackman teased, confirming that he in fact peed after he guzzled "two gallons of water on the suggestion of a natropath before the stage show of Beauty and the Beast, in which he starred as Gaston.
“You can see what’s happening,” the Deadpool and Wolverine star noted.
Jackman noted that the unfortunate incident occurred when he had sung Gaston’s first song while carrying the woman playing Belle, “a little bit of piss came out. I'm wearing red tights. I thought, ‘uh-oh.’”
When he reached the climax of the song, Jackman shared he had two options.
“I had a choice: You sing that F. I either sing it and piss my pants or I don't sing it and humiliate myself. So, I sang it. And [the urination] was just going.”
He turned his back to the audience when he finished the performance, so they wouldn’t see what happened.
“I'm laughing to myself thinking my boot is filled with piss, both boots filled with piss. And somehow I'm on stage, 1500 people, ‘Well, I'm getting away with this,'" Jackman shared.
But his dresser did see him completely wet as he walked off the stage.
“Nothing can embarrass you after that," he added.
