Victoria Beckham is clarifying her claim that she grew up "working class."
Back in 2023, Victoria appeared in husband David Beckham’s Netflix docuseries and claimed that the grew up "very working class." But David interrupted her and asked her to "be honest" and reveal which car her father drove her to school in.
"OK, in the ‘80s my dad had a Rolls-Royce," she replied. The clip went viral on social media and Victoria took advantage of it, releasing a t-shirt with "My dad had a Rolls-Royce" written across it.
Now, the fashion designer is setting the record straight about the claim.
During an appearance on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon, she said, "My dad was a real entrepreneur. You know, he really inspired me. He came from nothing and he used to drive a van because he had an electrical business."
"He would drive us to school in the van and we were happy, but then when he did very well in the ‘80s, the first thing he did was go buy himself a Rolls-Royce," she continued. "And we were devastated … like, kids just want to fit in. We used to be him we used to beg him, we were like, 'Please take us in the van, we don’t want to go in the Rolls-Royce.' So we were keeping it real, Jimmy."
Victoria Beckham released her own documentary in October.
