Gypsy-Rose Blanchard has been wearing wigs lately to hide her real hair.
The 34-year-old took to her Instagram and revealed her natural look, explaining why she’s been wearing wigs.
“This is my real natural hair,” she wrote on her story, along with a selfie showing off a pixie cut.
“I had to cut it really short because nearly two years of bleaching completely fried it,” Gypsy-Rose continued.
“I don’t feel comfortable with short hair, so I normally wear a high-quality wig while my real hair grows back healthy. I’m giving my hair a fresh start so it can grow long again,” she added.
Gypsy-Rose was released from prison in late 2023 after she was convicted for the 2016 murder of her 48-year-old mother, Dee Dee Blanchard and in 2024 she started undergoing some physical transformations, from getting a nose job and debuting a new blonde hairdo.
“New year, new mom, new haircut, new me,” she captioned a post after she and Urker welcomed their daughter, Aurora Raina Urker, on December 28, 2024 — marking the one-year anniversary of her prison release.
In April 2024, Blanchard confirmed to PEOPLE that she was preparing to undergo rhinoplasty to change the shape and appearance of her nose.
"I’m going through a personal transformation journey currently and that includes a physical one, too," she said in an exclusive statement to the outlet. "Wish me luck with my surgery and watch the whole thing this summer on Gypsy Rose: Life After Lock Up."
