Barry Williams finally reveals how child actors were treated on 'The Brady Bunch' set
Barry Williams makes surprising confession about what happened to child actors on 'The Brady Bunch'
Barry Williams opened up about his time on the set of The Brady Bunch.
The 71-year-old American actor, who played the role of Greg Brady in the 1969 sitcom, reflected on his time in producer Sherwood Schwartz’s show The Brady Bunch in the CW's docuseries, TV We Love.
In the recently released documentary, Williams gave credit to Sherwood’s son, Lloyd Schwartz, for giving him the chance to deal with child actors on the show.
Articulating his thoughts, he said, "The focus really was on the kids and their lives. This is, too, a part of the genius of Lloyd Schwartz and Sherwood Schwartz both. The way to keep us connected to what we were doing here, was to let us be kids."
The Growing Up Bardy star remembered being tasked with watching the kids, which then affected how the show was made.
Williams noted, “I basically would look at the show from the kids' point of view and my dad would have the point of view of the adult.”
Lloyd also participated in the conversation and stated that when it was about minding the kids, he “just treated it a little bit like summer camp. We just wanted them to be kids, which caused problems later on for me."
Notably, William also stated that as filming of The Brady Bunch involved "a lot of waiting around," he and costars, including Mike Lookinland, Eve Plumb, Christopher Knight, Maureen McCormick, and Susan Olsen, used to wander around the Paramount Studios.
It is pertinent to mention that TV We Love was released on Monday, October 13, 2025, at 8:00–9:00 p.m. ET/PT.
