Billy Bob Thornton gets honest about filming wild scenes with Ali Larter in 'Landman'
Billy Bob Thornton reveals how he felt working on intense scenes with Ali Larter
Billy Bob Thornton recently revealed that working on the wild scene in Landman with Ali Larter stirred old memories.
For those unaware, in the famous neo-Western drama television series, created and written by Taylor Sheridan, Thornton portrays an oil man, Lt. Tommy Norris, who gets back on good terms with his firecracker ex-wife, Angela (played by Larter).
Their relationship is unpredictable and aggressive, as Angela threw plates of pasta everywhere in their living room after Norris commented on her period.
While conversing with PEOPLE magazine to promote their recently released show, the 70-year-old American actor, filmmaker, and singer-songwriter said, "Every time we do scenes together, it's just a load of fun.”
He added that Michelle Randolph, who plays their daughter Ainsley and looks after her mother Angela, adds fuel to the chaos.
Thornton stated, "It's a full-time job. It's been awesome. I mean, those girls, we love them — in real life and as characters.”
The Academy Award winner, who has been married six times, loves the scenes he filmed with Larter because “I get flashbacks from my past, every now and then, from various times of my life.”
Notably, before the filming of Landman season 1, Thornton and Larter had developed “a natural chemistry. Automatically, Ali and I were just passionate friends."
It is pertinent to mention that Landman season 2, which was released on November 16, 2025, drops new episodes at midnight ET on Sundays until the finale on January 18 on Paramount+.
