Keith Urban planned Nicole Kidman split weeks before divorce filing?

Nicole Kidman might have filed for divorce, but Keith Urban allegedly initiated the split as he believed that their marriage had run its course.

The 58-year-old country star had reportedly hinted at his next step in conversation with a fan, weeks ahead of the split.

While interacting with a look-alike fan, Dale Whiteside, The Fighter hitmaker left a peculiar remark, which seemed to take on a new meaning after Urban and the Babygirl star officially parted ways.

Whiteside recalled that before the September 15 concert in Saskatoon, Canada, he told Urban how people often mistake him for the singer, and recently someone only identified him because, unlike the One Too Many singer, he doesn’t wear a wedding ring or have tattoos.

“Next time, it’ll probably be just the tattoos,” Urban told Whiteside, as per TMZ.

The estranged couple notably confirmed the split on September 29, and Kidman filed for divorce a day later.

Although the news took fans by surprise, an insider shared at the time that the divorce was a long time coming and the couple had realised that this was naturally the next step.

It was soon reported that following his split, Urban is open to potentially dating someone new.
