Davina McCall embraces new life after painful journey with cancer
Davina McCall encourages people to take their health seriously and stay aware of breast cancer symptoms
Davina McCall has returned to running for the first time after her breast cancer treatment, sharing a message of positivity with her fans.
The TV star, 58, posted a selfie on Instagram on Saturday, smiling in a red beanie as she celebrated completing her first jog.
She wrote: “First run! Yesssssssssss….. back to day one of running again… so good for my head … feeling super positive.”
Davina revealed that she was diagnosed with breast cancer six weeks before undergoing surgery.
However, the media icon discovered a lump while filming The Masked Singer and took it seriously after noticing signs in the studio toilets encouraging women to check their breasts.
For the unversed, she underwent a lumpectomy nearly three weeks ago.
The presenter explained that the cancer was caught “very very early,” making her feel lucky, but she will still need five days of radiotherapy in January as a precaution.
Davina further shared that she felt relieved to have the cancer removed now and thanked her doctors, nurses, family and fiancé Michael Douglas for their immense support.
Moreover, this is not the first health challenge Davina has faced, as in November 2024, she revealed she that she had a rare colloid cyst, which required a six hour operation to get it removed.
In her post, the star opened up to encourage others to take their health seriously, just as she now has learned from her own experiences.
Davina McCall also admitted she felt anger when she first received her diagnosis but now feels “in a much more positive place.”
