Netflix’s XO, Kitty is set to break new ground in its upcoming third season, with the series preparing to deliver its first-ever summer episode — a shift that showrunner Jessica O’Toole says will raise the stakes after Season 2’s cliffhanger.
Production on the new season wrapped earlier this year in Seoul, South Korea, following its renewal announcement and the cast’s April return to set.
While details remain under wraps, O’Toole teased that the new setting and tone will push Kitty’s story into fresh emotional territory.
“I’m so excited to head back to Seoul for another season with our incredible cast and crew. If you thought junior year at KISS brought the drama…just wait,” she told TUDUM.
Promising a payoff for fans still buzzing from last season’s ending, she added, “I know we left fans on a cliffhanger at the end of Season 2 but I can promise season 3 will be worth the wait, including our first summer episode — not to mention plenty of romance, friendship, adventure…and kissing. Lots of kissing.”
The To All the Boys–universe spinoff has built its charm around school-year chaos, but the introduction of a summer storyline hints at a shift in pace — one that could reshape dynamics, deepen relationships and introduce new characters tied to the season’s backdrop.
While Netflix has not yet confirmed a release date, the streamer has announced which cast members are returning and who will be joining the ensemble, signaling an expanded world ahead for Kitty Song Covey.
