Bo Bragason, Benjamin Evan Ainsworth seen as Zelda and Link for first time
'The Legend of Zelda' Live Action reveals first look of Bragason and Ainsworth as Zelda and Link
The Legend of Zelda is one step closer to the live action world as fans get their first real look of Zelda and Link.
Nintendo released new images on November 17 via the Nintendo Today app, revealing Bo Bragason and Benjamin Evan Ainsworth suited up as Princess Zelda and Link in the upcoming film, set to hit theaters on May 7, 2027.
The photos show the pair standing in a bright green field, with Zelda holding her bow and arrow and both actors fully embracing the iconic Hylian look, pointed ears included.
It marks the first major preview of the movie, which is being directed by Wes Ball, known for Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes and The Maze Runner.
Nintendo’s Shigeru Miyamoto confirmed the young stars earlier this year in a social media announcement, writing, “I am pleased to announce that for the live-action film of ‘The Legend of Zelda,’ Zelda will be played by Bo Bragason-san, and Link by Benjamin Evan Ainsworth-san. I am very much looking forward to seeing both of them on the big screen.”
Bragason and Ainsworth each bring a growing résumé to the project, from BBC dramas and Disney+ adventures to roles in Pinocchio and The Haunting of Bly Manor, setting expectations high for the franchise’s first live-action leap.
