Lucius Malfoy didn’t exactly have the warmest relationship with his son Draco, but Jason Isaacs and Tom Felton’s real-life dynamic is much different.
Isaacs had a proud dad moment last week when he attended Felton’s return to the Harry Potter universe, portraying Draco Malfoy after 14 years for the Harry Potter and the Cursed Child Broadway show in New York.
Isaacs later shared photos from the night to his Instagram on November 17, featuring warm moments between the longtime onscreen father and son.
“I came. I saw. He conquered,” he wrote in the caption, adding, “You had your own giant boots to fill, son, and you burst them at the seams. Balls like ostrich eggs. So brave. So proud. So glad to be there.”
The accompanying pictures showed three generations of the Malfoys, with Isaacs throwing his arms around Felton and Aidan Close, who plays Draco’s son Scorpius.
Other pictures in the carousel showed Isaacs, 62, warmly embracing Felton, 38, on stage.
Isaacs also shared a video of the cast taking their bows.
Felton stepped into Draco’s shoes for the first time since 2011’s Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 2. The historic moment was shared by the Cursed Child’s official Instagram page, showing fans erupting into cheers and applause for a full 30 seconds as Felton appeared on stage.
