Eddie Murphy opened up about his parenting experience as father of 10 children.
The Beverly Hills Cop actor, who first became dad to a boy, Eric Murphy, in 1989 with his then-girlfriend Paulette McNeely, went on to have nine more kids in the coming years.
He is also a father to five children with his ex-wife, Nicole Mitchell - Bria, Myles, Shayne, Zola and Bella - as two children from his former relationships with Melanie "Mel B" Brown and Tamara Hood, Angel and Christian, respectively, and shares kids Izzy and Max with wife Paige Butcher.
In his new documentary Being Eddie, the actor gave rare insight into his parental life.
"My superpower is that I am always, always present," he said. "Talk to one of my kids any time of day and ask, 'Where's your dad right now?' and they can look at their watch and tell you literally what part of the house I'm in."
He continued, "Dad is always present and always has been."
Previously, Murphy spoke about the reaction he gets when people learn about how many kids he has.
"Men kind of look at me like, ‘He’s crazy. How much did that s--- cost?'" he said at the Ellen DeGeneres Show. "And women, there’s something sexy about it. 'Eddie Murphy must be doing his thing. Eddie Murphy be gettin' it in.'"
Back in the time he also marvelled over his luck as a father, saying that having a large family dynamic was something that just happened, "I never knew I would have 10 kids, but now it’s the best thing ever."
His documentary, Being Eddie is now streaming on Netflix.
