Queen Camilla steps up for King Charles in new Palace announcement
Queen Camilla’s quiet letter from Buckingham Palace revealed one year after key visit
Queen Camilla showed her dedication and loyalty to her husband King Charles as she took on an important responsibility in her capacity as a working member of the royal family.
The Buckingham Palace had quietly issued a personal letter written by Camilla for a charity in Samoa, one year after the royal couple had made their first-ever royal tour to the Commonwealth nation. The trip was full of moving moments as Charles and Camilla both received a warm reception.
As a gesture of gratitude, Camilla has opted to raise awareness and support for the vulnerable women and children, who are victims of abuse, in Samoa.
“Ladies and gentlemen, as you gather in mark my husband, The King’s birthday, I wanted to send this message to say how pleased I am to have become Patron of the wonderful charity, Samoa Victim Support Group,” the letter from Camilla read.
“Almost exactly a year ago, I visited SVSG and was immediately struck by your outstanding work with victims of abuse throughout Samoa. You have, I know, touched, changed and saved lives across the island and I am proud to stand with you as we seek to end these heinous crimes forever.”
She had signed it as “Camilla R” and was dated November 13th, 2025.
In response, the charity shared that they were “deeply honoured” to have Camilla has their patron.
They said that it was a “historic blessing” as it marked two decades of service to vulnerable children, women, and persons with disabilities in the country.
The British High Commission had hosted the event held on Monday where Camilla’s letter was read out. SVSG president Siliniu Lina Chang was in attendance along with the Head of State, government leaders, and members of the diplomatic corps.
