Cynthia Erivo recounted the harrowing incident that visibly shook her co-star Ariana Grande during the Singapore premiere of Wicked: For Good.

At the premiere while the cast was walking down the yellow carpet, reminiscent of the yellow brick road, a crazed fan, Johnson Wen, also known as Pyjama Man leaped over the gates holding fans back from the ensemble cast and charge directly toward Grande, throwing his arm around her.

Erivo watching the scene unfold was the first to take the action as she quickly put herself between Grande and the fan, yelling repeatedly, “Get off her!"

Following the incident, during a special Screen Actors Guild screening in LA, the cast down for a bit of chat.

Reflecting on the scary incident, the Harriet star told the Entertainment Weekly, "We have come through some s--t. We have come through some stuff in our lives, in our daily workings. mean, f---, even this last week."

She continued, "Let's be honest, for f---'s sakes, we've had to really deal with some stuff, and this movie has allowed us to really grow as people, as friends, as sisters, as artists, as actresses."

Erivo also discussed about the significance of film’s impact, saying it allows audiences to feel safe and seen.

"There are other people who have seen themselves in this movie, in that character, and also now see themselves and feel safe," she continued. "That, for me, is the pinnacle of what I could ever wish for from any piece of work I have ever done."

The crazed fan has since been arrested on being a public nuisance. He was released but is expected back in court on Monday, per CBS.

The Daily Mail reports that the attack triggered Grande’s PTSD stemming from the 2017 terrorist attack at her Manchester concert.

Grande has yet not spoken about this latest incident.
