Princess Beatrice and Princess Eugenie appeared united and resolute in the wake of their father’s high-profile fall from grace, a lip reader suggests.
The royal sisters were spotted in Mayfair, London, sharing an emotional embrace during their first public outing since Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor was stripped of his titles.
According to lip reader Nicola Hickling, Princess Beatrice, whispered to her younger sister, “We’re in this together, don’t forget that.”
She reportedly added, “It’s going to get harder” and “we can’t do anything,” while Eugenie appeared to respond with the sober observation, “Everything is changing.”
Despite the storm surrounding their father, Beatrice and Eugenie have returned to public duties, retaining their princess titles and membership in the “House of York.”
Beatrice returned to her UK charitable duties with a heartfelt visit to Chelsea and Westminster Hospital, where she toured medical research facilities in her role as patron of Borne.
The outing carried a deeply personal resonance for the princess, whose daughter, Athena Mapelli Mozzi, arrived several weeks early in January, weighing just four pounds and five ounces.
Reflecting on the experience in writing, Beatrice admitted that the early arrival had been an emotional whirlwind. “She was so tiny it took more than a few weeks for the tears of relief to dry,” she revealed, offering a glimpse into the personal impact behind her public role.
During her tour of the hospital’s laboratory, she highlighted the significance of Borne’s work, noting, “The work that Borne is undertaking is something that is incredibly close and personal to me following the early arrival of my second daughter.”
