Tom's outing comes juts weeks after the end of his nine-month romance with Ana de Armas
Tom Cruise appeared upbeat as he posed for photos with friends, including Jennifer Hudson, following his split from Ana de Armas.
The 63-year-old Mission: Impossible star was seen on Sunday with American actress and dancer Debbie Allen at her Los Angeles studio.
He looked sharp in a black suit and shirt as they enjoyed a small gathering ahead of tomorow's Oscars Governors Awards. Friends and family of Tom, Jennifer, 44, and Debbie were also in attendance at the studio.
Tom's outing comes juts weeks after the end of his nine-month romance with Ana de Armas.
The couple was last seen publicly in July, looking smitten as they officially confirmed their rleationship.
At the time, they were photographed hand-in-hand as they headed off for a romantic weekend in Woodstock, Vermont.
A source close to the pair told The Sun: 'Tom and Ana had a good time together but their time as a couple has run its course.
'They are going to remain friends but they aren't dating anymore. They just realised they weren't going to go the distance and that they are better off as mates.'
'The spark had gone between them but they still love each other's company and they have both been really adult about it. She's already been cast in his next film, so they will continue to work together.'
News of their split emerged last month. Around the same period, Tom's ex-wife Nicole Kidman finalised her split from husband Keith Urban.
Earlier this month, Tom was spotted for the first time since his breakup, which is believed to have initiated by Ana.
