George Clooney explains his viewpoint by quoting example of his character in 'Jay Kelly'
George Clooney has made a surprising statement about getting sucked into the Hollywood culture.
The Ocean’s 11 actor has played a challenging character of a movie star Jay Kelly in a new film of the same name.
In the movie, Kelly and his manager Ron, played by Adam Sandler, embrace a journey together during which they confront each other’s past.
While talking about the film, Clooney opened that it is very easy to get consumed by the Hollywood culture.
“It becomes an industry basically”, he said while adding, "It's easy to get sucked in.”
The Wolfs actor revealed that during the course of his career he made sure to avoid the pitfalls of working too much unlike his character Jay Kelly.
George told Reuters, "You have to be an active participant in who you are and what you do, right? So, you have to say, 'Well, no, I don't need that and I don't want that'. You have to actively say no, or things kind of get brought in.”
He admitted to having a healthy understanding of how he wants to be perceived as and how he wants to live life.
Backed by Netflix, Jay Kelly features Clooney and Sandler along with Emily Mortimer, Riley Keough, Billy Crudup and Greta Gerwig.
