Colleen Hoover, the author of It Ends With Us, has mostly kept tight-lipped about the legal battle between Justin Baldoni and Blake Lively, but the filmmaker’s recently submitted evidence reveals new information.
The 41-year-old actor provided the text exchanges between the writer and himself in a recent court filing, which included Hoover’s perspective on the feud.
“I know things took an awful turn, and I felt forced to choose when I did not want to,” Hoover wrote, according to the submitted texts obtained by People Magazine.
The text message continued, “But the back and forth articles from both camps is just so upsetting and ridiculous. It’s making everyone working on this movie look immature. Everyone is out there trying to save themselves and now this has turned into a huge mess.”
Hoover went on to express her disappointment with Baldoni, writing, “I have been disappointed personally by your actions many times.”
The author appeared to be siding with Lively when the drama began unfolding, and she sued her co-star for orchestrating a smear campaign against her and harassing her on set, but soon distanced herself from both parties.
Hoover’s insights will be heard once again during the trial, which is scheduled for March 2026, since she has been deposed, along with other creators of the film.
