Idris Elba to return as detective John Luther in upcoming sequel of 2023 movie
Idris Elba to team up again with Dermot Crowly for new Netflix film
Idris Elba will be teaming up with Ruth Wilson for a second Luther movie.
Earlier today, Netflix confirmed that Elba is all set to reprise his iconic role as John Luther in the upcoming sequel.
He will be reuniting with longtime co-actors Dermot Crowly, who will be playing Martin Scheck and Wilson as Alice Morga.
Director Jamie Payne and writer Neil Cross have returned to make the follow-up film to Luther: The Fallen Sun in 2023.
The second movie will explore a murder spree that can only be solved by detective Luther.
While talking about the new film, Cross added, "Luther, Alice, and Schenk are more than characters to me — they’re family.”
"I never stop wondering where they are, what’s become of them … and what horrors might be stirring in the shadows of London while Luther’s not around. So we decided to get together and find out what happens next”, he said.
Meanwhile, director Payne praised the efforts put in by Cross to create a catchy dark tale one more time.
"Neil has yet again created a wonderfully dark tale to bring us all back together. It’s a true joy to be back on the streets of Lutherland with the supreme talents that are Idris Elba and Dermot Crowley.”
He further expressed excitement of reuniting with Alice Morgan, played by Ruth Wilson.
