American actor Mark Harmon rose to fame with his role of Special Agent Leroy Jethro Gibbs in ‘Origins’
Mark Harmon, who plays the role of Special Agent Leroy Jethro Gibbs, may make a comeback during the first crossover event between NCIS and NCIS: Origins on November 11.
CBS has confirmed the news as the outlet reported that The Veterans Day crossover will focus on Austin Stowell's younger Leroy and his team as they investigate a naval officer's death in the 1990s, per OK! magazine.
In a press statement shared via the outlet, Mark said that he’s “very proud of the storytelling that David [J. North] and Gina [Lucita Monreal] are doing on Origins”.
“They continue to push boundaries and dive deeper into the characters' backstories,” continued the 74-year-old.
Mark revealed in a statement that they came to him “with an idea for Leroy that he liked, and it seemed like a good time to check in with him.
“Four years ago, Leroy disappeared to Alaska to live a life of solitude… We don't want to give too much away, but let's just say Gibbs is no longer alone,” pointed out the Freaky Friday star.
It is pertinent to mention that Mark made his final appearance in the fourth episode of Season 19 in 2021 after 18 years.
Interestingly, the showrunner and executive producer Steven D. Binder noted Mark would continue “to be an integral part of the fabric of the show” as an executive producer.
Steven also dropped major hints about Mark character's potential return in the future.
According to OK! the Summer School actor revealed that he’s eyeing to come back to the hit show.
“Mark's been teasing a return to the show and everyone wanted him back,” said an insider in an exclusive interview with Star.
Meanwhile, the actor “is still on the fence when it comes to going back to the grind. People wish he would stop getting them excited only to let them down”.
