Jennifer Lawrence opens up about balancing career and family as a working mother.

The Hunger Games alum reflected on motherhood journey as she revealed when she had her first child and felt completely connected to her baby while speaking to W Magazine.

However, Jennifer realised “the world wasn’t designed around that relationship”.

No Hard Feelings actress mentioned, “Suddenly, you’re like, Wait, how am I supposed to go back to work? Get in a car and drive away?”

“Get on an airplane and fly away from my baby? Like, what are you talking about? Everything looks different after that,” explained the 35-year-old.

Elsewhere in the interview, Jennifer, who stars in the new movie Die My Love alongside Robert Pattinson, plays a mother role who experiences a severe form of postpartum depression, called postpartum psychosis.

The actress noted that the society in the United States is not built “to support new parents” and this is why she feels a sense of empathy towards her character.

“She says it in the movie: ‘There’s nothing wrong with me and my baby; it’s the world that’s absurd,” stated the Red Sparrow actress.

Jennifer pointed out, “I don’t know, maybe with a little more time, in retrospect, I’ll be able to tell the difference. I’m still not sure what was acting and what was just me being a mother.”

Meanwhile, the actress expressed her fears that the viewers might be drawn to the upcoming movie for the wrong seasons.

“My biggest fear is that people are expecting fanfic because it’s me and Rob,” she told the outlet.

Jennifer added, ““Huge mistake to go into this movie with that expectation. Everybody, pump your brakes and maybe watch a Lynne Ramsay movie before going in.”
