Adam Sandler to be honoured with 'special award' for 'Jay Kelly'
Adam Sandler stars opposite George Clooney and Greta Gerwig in 'Jay Kelly'
Adam Sandler has unlocked yet another achievement in his career after playing a key role in new film, Jay Kelly.
Backed by Netflix, the comedy drama features him alongside lead star George Clooney.
The film follows the story of a famous movie star Jay Kelly and his committed manager named Ron, who go aboard on a profound journey through Europe.
During the journey, the two encounter the choices they’ve made in their lives, and the legacy they will leave behind.
For his spectacular depiction of Ron, Sandler will be honoured with the "Chairman’s Award" at the Palm Springs International Film Festival on January 3rd during the festival run from January 2 to 11.
The organizers of the festival have termed the film as Adam’s “career’s best” act.
In a statement, the festival chairman Nachhattar Singh Chandi said, “Adam Sandler delivers a deeply moving and career-best performance in Jay Kelly.”
According to Chandi, the project defines him as one of the most versatile and respected actors of his generation.
“We are proud to honor Adam – a singular talent whose work continues to surprise and inspire – with this year’s Chairman’s Award.”
Besides Clooney and Sandler, Jay Kelly also stars Emily Mortimer, Riley Keough, Billy Crudup, Laura Dern, Greta Gerwig and Patrick Wilson.
