Stranger Things is officially on its way back, and fans can’t contain their excitement.
On Thursday, November 6, Netflix stunned audiences by unexpectedly releasing the first five minutes of Stranger Things Season 5, giving a haunting glimpse into the upcoming final chapter of the beloved sci-fi saga.
“November 12, 1983. Watch the first 5 minutes of Stranger Things 5 now,” Netflix wrote alongside the clip, hinting that the long-awaited season will exceed expectations and take viewers back to where it all began.
The gripping teaser revisits the fateful night in 1983 that launched the series, revealing more of Will Byers’ mysterious disappearance.
Fans see 12-year-old Will, portrayed by Noah Schnapp, lying half-conscious in the eerie forests of the Upside Down, softly singing “Should I Stay or Should I Go” as he drifts between sleep and fear. Moments later, he awakens in terror as the chilling roar of the Demogorgon echoes nearby.
In a desperate attempt to survive, Will grabs a gun and fires at the monstrous creature before trying to escape, but his efforts fail, leaving viewers on edge and eager for more answers.
The preview not only revisits the show’s origins but also hints at deeper connections to later storylines involving Vecna and the haunting forces of the Upside Down.
Fans wasted no time flooding social media with reactions.
One viewer wrote, “That 5 minutes went by too quick, I need more! Lol Can’t wait!!!”
Another speculated, “If I remember right, I’m pretty sure Will said something about Vecna saving him. Maybe this is part of that? That last scene made me sick. He’s just a baby bro.”
A third fan added, “Take all the suffering from Will and give it to Vecna,” while another admitted, “Not ready for the trauma this season will leave.”
Netflix confirmed that Stranger Things Season 5 will arrive in three installments: Part 1 drops on November 26, Part 2 on December 25, and the feature-length finale on December 31.
