Millie Bobby Brown is opening up about married life and why she never doubted saying “I do” at a young age.

The Stranger Things star, now 21, revealed in a new British Vogue profile that she knew people might judge her timeline.

“I understood I was young, I know that,” she said, reflecting on marrying Jake Bongiovi when she was 20.

The pair first exchanged vows in May 2024 in an intimate ceremony with family, then celebrated again in Italy that October.

Before tying the knot, the couple had been together for nearly three years. Brown said it simply felt right, explaining, “I truly just can’t say it enough: when you meet that person, you know it.”

She shared that they were introduced by a mutual friend, and her first impression was that he was “so cute,” though she wasn’t sure he felt the same.

Four years later, the actress says her admiration has only grown. “He just lets me be me. That’s why I adore him.”

Brown noted that their personalities balance each other.

She admitted she can be cautious because of her experiences in the industry. “I don’t see the best in everyone. I’m always like, ‘What are your intentions?’ because I’ve been jaded by the industry,” she said.

Being with Bongiovi has helped her relax, “allowing myself to be less reserved in that world.”

This past summer, the couple welcomed a daughter, a milestone they announced in August with a message sharing they were excited to begin parenthood in “peace and privacy.”

Their British Vogue interview marks the first time Brown has spoken about motherhood publicly.

She called the experience “a beautiful, amazing journey” and shared that their little one has “taught us so much already.” She described their daily life as “filled with lots of cuddles and laughter and love. It’s just endless joy.”

Brown emphasized that the pair intends to guard their daughter’s privacy, including choosing not to reveal her name.

“For me, it’s really important to protect her and her story until she’s old enough to potentially one day share it herself,” she said.

For now, they plan to keep her out of the spotlight. If she decides later to pursue a public life, Brown says that’s something they would support.

Even with such major life steps at a young age, Brown seems confident in her choices, grounded in love, trust and a desire to build a life far from the noise.
