Sydney Sweeney finally addresses jeans campaign controversy

Sydney Sweeney has recently broken silence on American Eagles jeans campaign controversy.

The Euphoria star reveals that she was never pushed to issue a statement defending her stint amid the criticism.

“I know who I am. I know what I value. I know that I’m a kind person,” says the 28-year-old in a new interview with GQ magazine.

Immaculate actress opens up that she “loves a lot and just excited to see what happens next”.

Therefore, Sydney confesses she never let other people “define” who she is in real.

Reflecting on the campaign and the backlash, Anyone But You actress clarifies that she “did a jean ad. I mean, the reaction definitely was a surprise, but I love jeans. All I wear are jeans”.

“I knew at the end of the day what that ad was for, and it was great jeans, it didn’t affect me one way or the other,” she tells the outlet.

Elsewhere in the interview, Sydney also shares her reaction to US President Donald Trump’s expressing support for her amid the criticism.

Madame Web actress adds that it “was surreal” to find out that Donald also “had an opinion about the ad”.

Sydney also discloses that she didn’t pay attention to the controversy at large mainly because she was busy working day and night.

“I kind of just put my phone away. I was filming every day. I’m filming ‘Euphoria,’ so I’m working 16-hour days,” explains the actress.

She admits that she doesn’t really bring her phone on set and after going back to home, she would go to sleep.

So, Sydney adds, “I didn’t really see a lot of it.”

Meanwhile, the actress is currently promoting Christy movie which will release in theatres on November 7.
